Between two train stations on the Tanesashi Coast

Walking a small section of the Michinoku Coastal Trail along the Tanesashi Coast in Hachinohe, Japan. …

[1] Starting at Mutsu-Shirahama Station, which is more like a train stop, as there’s only a small shelter on the train platform. [2] Heading out to the coast, the first attraction is Shirahama Fishing Port. [3, 4] Going south from the port for the first views of this rugged coastline. [5, 6] Next up is Fukakubo Fishing Port, which looks almost abandoned. [7] Then continuing south through Yodo-no-Matsubara (Yodo Pine Grove). [8, 9] Just off the coast is Shira-iwa (White Rock). [10, 11] A little more coastline until the large open space of the Tanesashi Coast Natural Grass Field. [12] From there it’s back inland to Tanesashikaigan Station for the train ride back to the city center.
